It's still Thursday, so that means it's not too late to bid on one of the zillions of fine items available for auction to benefit the Nielson family. (Actually, many auctions are open until Sunday night.)
I'm not elaborating because about half of this blog's readers know about them already, and the other half of you can follow the link and find out why I think it's a worthy cause. Plus...Christmas is practically around the corner; don't you need to start buying stuff anyway? By the way, I don't know this family personally but I'm pretty sure I'm in the majority there.
See a list of links at Design Mom; also I saw a whole bunch of items up on A Room Somewhere. Personally I'm a fan of joining the bidding a little late myself (who has time to sit around all day refreshing a bid page? okay, maybe I do some days, but not today), so here I go!

I don't really even know what to say. What a horrible thing to happen and how amazing is it when people get together to help.
I will keep them in my thoughts and hope that they have a fast recovery and can be reunited with their children quickly.
Reading this sort of thing really makes you appreciate all of the blessings you have in your life.
Love you!
There were so many things for sale, I was overwhelmed - hopefully many of them will continue - and I notice several sellers said they will be donating 10% of their profits for the next while - I was tempted by a pair of vintage shoes - but they didn't give the size - I guess I could have asked for the size - but then I couldn't remember which site it had been - and there were a lot to go through.
But I plan to donate. I'm sure the need is not going to go away anytime soon!
Agreed--mostly I like the idea of giving, while also getting a little something cute in return. But just plain old giving is obviously fine too...
