A beautiful day in the neighborhood

Watching conference with the windows open, then playing at the playground: a perfect recipe for a perfect day.

And for dessert, donuts in the parking lot.

Those are officially my favorite pictures of parenting. Crap, I totally need some rollerskates!!!!

Thanks, Nicole. As tempting as your offer is, however, I will have to politely decline being pregnant any more times than necessary. :)

The donuts were pretty weak. Make that very weak. I should go practice, although my stroller doesn't have hand brakes so I need adult supervision.

I recommend roller skates to one and all.

Sometimes I wonder what I will think when I look back at pictures like these, say, 10 or 20 years from now. Will I remember all of the hard things about my life as a mom of young kids? Because no older ladies seem to. I hope I won't. Or maybe I hope I will so that I can be sympathetic to those poor young things. I don't know.

As it is, now that I have documented this, it's all I remember from that day, which was only a couple of weeks ago. But Ida probably woke up all night, and I probably was mean a few times, and Theo probably sat in time-out several times, and the house was probably messy, and if I made dinner at all it probably didn't taste very good. (If Matt made it I'm sure it was good.)

Anyway, food for thought. But I think I prefer to remember it as a perfect day.

Wonderful thought at the end. I really love these pictures too. And, it's funny, becuase I will look at this picture and think, wow, she makes it look so easy (rollerskating, rollerskating while pushing a double stroller mothering, being skinny after having two kids, in like 2 years, etc.), and then you say that in the end it makes me realize that selective memory is such a large of part of enjoying motherhood :).

I love you!!! You are too funny! That last picture could win the "most fun mom ever" award!!! I would totally vote for you!

Selective memory is a key - as long as you select the right memories!

for some reason I thought your stroller was red. Did you get a new one?

Eliza said...

You got me...I sold the red one (at a $5 profit no less) when I found one in better shape.
