Today is the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King's assassination. (Thanks Bono for imprinting the date on my mind)
Kind of a depressing anniversary, but just thought I would share in case you forgot. As I think I say every year, enjoy your day, and enjoy your civil rights.

I've heard that song a mazillion times - heck, I've sung along to it a mazillion times, and it never imprinted in my brain. I just saw your title and thought - "Oh, YEAH - that's what the date was."
Kind of depressing to remember, but it is good to not forget the ugliness of hate. Enjoying my day is one thing I can do for humanity, I guess:)
I am astounded by how his cause reached all races, all ages. It is only fitting he dies a martyr to his cause (and do I dare say poetic?) I have often thought, if I'd lived in the 60's I would have thought the world was coming to an end, what with Vietnam, Woodstock, JFK, and Martin Luther King, among others.
