Why I like The Rock
Okay, so my new favorite person is The Rock.
I watched him yesterday on “Live with Regis and Kelly”—Regis and Kelly, P.S., being two more of my very favorite people. (I don’t actually know any of these people, by the way. I just watch them on TV and feel a close bond with them.)
Side note: I normally do not watch Regis and Kelly—well, not since I got a job, anyway—but yesterday I had an abnormally serious case of just-couldn’t-wake-up. I’ve been really tired lately. So, well, I went ahead and rolled into work at 11:30, which I swear I don’t normally do. But I have a very understanding boss, and so I had a chance to watch Regis and Kelly while eating my Corn Chex. Which, incidentally, is probably the only thing I miss about job-hunting—the fact that in between interviews and résumé tweaking I can watch Regis and Kelly while eating my Corn Chex and not feel guilty about it because hey, what else am I supposed to do?
Anyway. I must admit I was Not Too Fond of ol’ Mr. Rock back in his WWF days. He was just so cheesy.
And “The Mummy Returns,” etc. didn’t help my impression of him either.
But now I’ve decided he’s funny and cute, and that raised eyebrow thing is kind of amusing to me. And he’s in “Be Cool,” which I want to see—being a fan of “Get Shorty”—so there’s another reason to like him. The clip they showed on Regis and Kelly featured The Rock (who plays a gay bodyguard/aspiring actor) auditioning for Chili Palmer (John Travolta) with a “monologue” from what I deem the cheesiest part of the already-quite-cheesy “Bring It On.” For some reason the whole thing was very, very funny to me.
And that’s why I like The Rock.

The Rock is hot now. Have you seen Walking Tall? It is cheesey but a good man flick with some quality good-looking-Rock time. Plus it's short.
My 4 year old brother Ethan looks like the Rock.
