Thanks for exercise

(Me in exercise clothes... that’s the best I’ve got.)(This picture is from Polly’s first day of virtual kindergarten. Bit of a bumpy start.)

For many years my main exercise of choice has been running. Swimming snuck in there for a while when Polly was a baby and I joined a great swim class at our local rec center. Something else I’ve done off and on has been High Fitness, taught by my friend Natalie. During Polly’s last year of preschool I became a regular at Natalie’s class, which was also at the rec center. After the pandemic started, Natalie taught classes on Zoom. When she became too pregnant to teach, I started doing the corporate classes that stream online.

I really miss the community aspect of working out at the rec center, and I will definitely go back when it’s an option again. I had also started going to spin classes at the rec center in January and plan to do that again eventually. (Triathlon here I come... someday...) I would also like to get back into running, and I do randomly run sometimes; but for now, High Fitness online is a great option that I can do at home and have never gotten bored with. Yay.

I miss the thrice weekly HIIT class I took for several years at the Y. I wonder if it will come back? I mostly just walk these days. Better than nothing I guess. I tried doing online but wasn't very diligent - at least the walking gets done!
