Thanks for old friends.

One of the best parts of visiting Utah is seeing old friends. Including running into Ellie, a buddy from my freshman dorm 18 years ago, at the mall!

I’ve said to a few people recently that I have three homes: California, Utah, and Virginia. I feel so at home in all of these places. One day of our Utah trip, we spent all afternoon and evening with good friends from college and our combined 18 CHILDREN! I’d add a picture, but of course I didn’t take one. How would I have lined that many kids up in the first place??

I love serendipitous run-ins as much as I love planned reunions.

Like my girls’ trip with Katie this summer. Eliza and Katie, est. 1994!

And for your viewing pleasure, the Marco Polo I have going with Mandy, the friend I’ve known the longest, clocking in at 30+ years. Maybe 35? We did live a block apart from each other starting in infancy.

There’s nothing like being with someone who’s known you for most of your life and still thinks you’re great. I’m very thankful for old friends.
