October: flu shots month
Sometimes I complain about our high-deductible health plan. How many hundreds of hours have I spent on the phone over the years in pursuit of health-insurance related answers... BUT I’m glad we have a health plan at all. And I’m glad we met our deductible this year, in time to fit in lots of medical appointments at a lower rate than we paid all year but still paying a low-ish premium.
So, this is sounding like a backhanded “thanks.” #firstworldproblems ...Look, dealing with the details of health insurance is often complicated, expensive, and annoying. But having it for the six of us is infinitely better than not having it. It’s an amazing gift and blessing. Thanks for our health insurance!

We went a lot of years without health insurance - not sure how we did that - and I paid a lot of doctor bills. But the insurance we have now is a godsend indeed!
