This was very informative - and pretty much goes along with the issues I faced teaching students on the spectrum - who usually didn't need academic support, but social and emotional support. Possibly special ed training is different now, but when I taught, we had not been given all the tools we needed to help kids, especially those on the high end of the spectrum. I'm sure it's a "work in progress."
