And maybe because I'm nesting. Except it's the opposite of regular nesting because 12 days from now my kids are leaving the nest for school, and then I guess I can enjoy my clean house. ("I guess"?! Of course I'll enjoy it. #ocdgoals) But anyway today I Scotch-Brited all the chrome in my bathroom and bleached all the white things. I'm eyeing my butcher block counters next, which are looooong overdue for a sanding and varnishing. Much more overdue than the floor was for waxing. I have to say, I still love that floor and the counters (and their extremely low price tags) but I probably could have chosen lower-maintenance materials. Oh well, beauty is pain. Also, time is money. I know, it's confusing.
Also, in case you were unsure whether I was truly on my way to the housewives' hall of fame, I made a pie last week for the first time ever. A pie! Which my kids begged me to make. From the peaches they begged to pick.
And then... they didn't eat the pie. They each tried a bite and declared, independent of one another, "I forgot I don't actually like pie." So, I ate it. And it was delicious.
Cute Polly in the orchard.
The end.

I think you have to be an adult to like pie - I didn't like it until I was an adult!
