Everybody's talkin' at me

Welcome to another installment of the archives. Starring mostly Ida.

Theo and Ida sleep in separate rooms but they both get to sleep in Theo's room on weekend nights. They both love it and have a lot of fun. The only problem with this arrangement is that Theo almost always keeps Ida awake when she's trying to sleep.

Ida: Go back to sleep.
Theo: No. I wanna fly!
Ida: Go back to sleep and you'll dream about flying.

My favorite thing about my kids' prayers is that they say "I bet" instead of "please bless that."

Ida: Dear Heavenly Father, I'm thankful that I had a whiny day today, and I bet that I'll not have a whiny day tomorrow, and I'm thankful that we had dessert after family home evening, and that we had a gross dinner. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Me: What? We had a gross dinner?
Ida: I said a GOOD dinner!

Ida: Mom, Theo ate an ant.
Theo: It was a really tiny one!

Me: What do you think we could do to help Theo not yell or scream in Target?
Ida: Wait and don't take him there until he's a little older.

Ida (coming out of her room late one night, in tears): I fell out of bed, but I didn't notice I was falling until my back hit the floor. Because my eyes were closed. But when my back hit the floor, then I noticed.

Ida: Maybe when Lars is really old, like ready to die, then he'll know not to make a mess.

***

Ida: Tell me everything that you know.
Me: Everything I know about what?
Ida (thinking): About...whatever!
