"Ummmm...I don't know, did you look in your dresser?"
"Yes, I did! ...OK, here they are."
"Where?"
"Where?"
"Bottom drawer."
"OK next time before waking me up could you try the dresser first?"
"I did try it, I just didn't try the bottom drawer."
I couldn't fall back asleep after Matt left (properly attired for his ride of course) and so I stayed in bed and half-dreamed until Ida woke up. Still somehow, despite the jump start on the day, we were 5 minutes late to preschool. Probably because even the most reluctant October-morning sun has nothing on Monday-morning Theo.

Do you know the Mamas and the Papas song "Monday, Monday?"
It would fit with your day!!
Of course, Eliza hiding my shorts was just an elaborate exercise to ensure that she would be awake to see me in my bike shorts.
I think you're right Matt!
It's so nice to know that my 2 most stalwart readers (Matt and Babs) will be here even when I post sporadically.
And yes, Matt apparently figured out why I would "hide" his shorts in the dresser.
sigh. That is so my husband too.
