Back to school, back to school

I was going to make a fall mix for you but I realized that I still have my fall mix from last year on the sidebar (even though it's labeled "January" for some reason).

So instead I am going to share this little tidbit with you. When I think of fall I think of school starting, and when I think of school starting I think, among other things, of my 2 favorite cancelled TV shows, which happen to be set in schools.

(enjoy a little Latin flavor at the very end of that one.)

Can't beat 'em!

Season 1 of Veronica Mars is still the best (2 and 3 went slowly downhill, I'm sorry to say). So many quotable lines and I love all the characters. Unfortunately a little crude at times and the crudeness got worse in the final 2 seasons. Felicity, you may already know of my love for, and all the seasons of that one are awesome. I re-watch them when I want something on in the background while I do a mundane chore like painting. Season 1 of VM has been on lately while I organize files.

Slightly embarrassing confessions out in the open, now please proceed with your normal September activities.

I LOVE Veronica Mars! I was so sad that it became nastier and nastier because then I couldn't recommend them to everyone. Season 1 was a masterpiece.

I've never seen either one - but I do remember you always talking about Felicity!!

"Come on now sugar, get it on get it on YEAH!" VM has one if if not the best theme songs. Need to re-watch that show.

i sailed through all the seasons of veronica mars in the weeks after porter was born. even thinking about the show makes me nostalgic for those few first weeks of newbabyness. i downloaded a bunch of episodes on brigham's ipod (for night nursing sessions and for falling asleep) and discovered that brigham became hooked on his daily commute. he tried to downplay it, but he started watching them even when he was home. and asking me questions about the plot.

i have never watched felicity but that is about to change. starting tonight.

Two of my favorite shows. Felicity was the same as Veronica Mars - the first couple seasons were the best and then it went rapidly downhill. I'm watching Veronica Mars for the 1st time and am about 3/4 of the way through the first season. It's so good!

Susan, I must disagree--I LOVED junior and senior years of Felicity. Noel/Leon...time travel...witchery...loved it all.

But I can see where you're coming from. :)

I want to turn this into a VM forum now that I know of so many fans. Where should I start with my favorite characters... Logan... Weevil... Keith Mars... Cliff the attorney? Love 'em all!

Oh and I wanted to say that VM and Felicity are both appealing to husbands as well. Cute title characters don't hurt, but the lines and the acting are also really good, and both shows are really funny and very visually appealing (I love the sets on both shows). Quality stuff! To echo Susie, too bad VM's humor got so lewd, but Felicity stayed strong, even if it did turn to witchcraft and time travel toward the end.

I must say, I don't recall witchcraft and time travel. I was in my senior year of high school when Felicity first premiered and I lived vicariously through her. Looking back at a few journal entries, I think I was actually trying to be her. Then when I was actually at college, I didn't have time to stay current. I think you may have inspired a great idea! Now I'll have something to watch over the long weekend. (Oh ya, you should give honorable mention to Gilmore Girls)

when i watch the opening credits of felicity it is, like, total time travel back to high school. big time. "oh eh ah. oooh ooh oh ah." i couldn't really ever take the pink power ranger seriously, though.
