Side note, the above photo was taken by my awesome cousin Scott who visited us this week and accompanied us on thrilling excursions like swimming lessons. Second side note, knowing how bad my posture is I actually tried to sit up straight in the picture he took of us at swimming lessons. The result is really sad.
I should probably be glad that the thing I hate most about myself (well, top 5 at least) is my TERRIBLE posture. It could be worse but it's still bad. I don't know when this started but I know I used to sit on my tailbone in high school and that couldn't have helped.I don't want to be staring at the floor permanently by the time I'm 50 (or ever) so I was thinking I should get a back brace, like Michelle's in Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion. (back brace.)
Some time in the past year or so my mom said she had seen one in a catalog that wasn't quite as intense as that, and she went hunting for it. Turned out it was meant for women who are, shall we say, very well endowed and need some support in the front chestal area. So, not so much me. Obviously the jimmy-rigged bra is not an option and so I need to think of something. When I worked in an office I had a post-it note on my computer that said SIT UP STRAIGHT. That clearly didn't help. Maybe I could set an alarm on my phone that reminds me every 3 minutes to straighten up. Should I take up yoga? Or ballet? Or twirling tall flags? Is it too late for any of this?
HELP MEEE

yoga helps. seriously. just be grateful that you're not taller than matt when you're sitting down, because that's why i slouch. so robbie doesn't look like he has a tall man-wife.
I have horrible posture as well.
Side note- Ida has bangs? so cute!
I have the worst posture ever! An old lady in my San Diego ward told me so!! It's been confirmed that I needed some help. I saw a brace in SkyMall while traveling to Utah for the holidays. I got it and it works great. I think the idea is to wear it under your clothes but that always chafes my armpits, so I wear it over my clothes while I'm indoors. It was about $50 and totally worth it. I'm not sure if my posture has improved but I like to think I am atleast trying to remedy the problem.
I have the worst posture ever, and I have been seeing a chiropractor for some pretty intense therapy. Because my bad posture was causing a lot pain in my legs and hips for the last two years! It is helping, xrays showed that I had a legit reason for having bad posture, I really COULD NOT stand up straight even when I tried. It's all totally borin and I'll tell you all the details another time, but I have improved a ton! And I no longer have pain!
I thing most people have bad posture. Being a mom makes it worse! I will remind you to sit up straight next time I see you!
(I LOVE that song.)
And, Rock Lobster was in my head all day.
Thanks.
My posture has gotten worse over the years with hauling kids around on hips, and slouching in my computer chair for hours. Ballet definitely does help, crunches (although I can't remember the last time I did them)and the Wii fit might as well. I know there are a lot of exercises on the Wii fit that measure if you're standing correctly, etc...
The kids are growing up so much. They're so cute, even if you feel like they're a handful at times. Hang in there. You're doing a great job.
