Sorry I have been a blog slacker. Not a week after we moved in we were struck by the flu, strep throat, and ear infections. No one emerged unscathed.
This photo of Matt and Ida has nothing to do with that. I just like it. Reminds me of happier days, I suppose...
Just kiddin'. The kids are on antibiotics, we can all walk more than a few steps without collapsing, and everything's hunky dory. Even better, we are on track to get the kids moved into their new bedroom by tomorrow night! HOORAY! This means the hall will be clear of the multitudinous buckets of their clothes, and also I won't have to prop Theo's mattress up against the playroom wall every morning. Which, by the way, fell on Theo today when he was attempting to scale it. That was sad. Lessons learned for both of us: don't prop up mattresses and don't attempt to scale them.
When I think about how I thought 2 weeks would allow us time to paint before moving in, I just have to laugh at myself. Maybe if we had hired someone to do it. Although I'm glad we didn't get around to it then (even though doing it now makes settling in take longer) because just in the past 2 weeks of living here (or has it been 3?) I have changed my mind on paint colors about 1,436 times.
Soon enough I will have a party here and you're all invited. Not for at least a month though. Sorry, it's really still a big mess. But you are welcome to come over any time if you don't mind the mess part.

Moving is a big job. And it takes time - sometimes I feel like I'm still moving in here!
"That was sad." HAHA
