Pay no attention to the time stamp; I took a Tylenol PM on Thursday night, which I have only done one other time in my life, and then Matt let me sleep in until 10 this morning. Note to self, never do that again. It's almost 1 a.m. and I feel like scrubbing the floor or something. We have been ridiculously sick at our house this week, but since starting on antibiotics yesterday and sleeping 12 hours last night--and a good friend bringing us dinner today, THANK YOU Ashley!--I feel 90% better. Amazing what a pill, a night of sleep, and a friend can do for your health. Now if someone could just pass the memo on to Ida. I thought she was getting better but now am thinking not. Probably doctor time for her too.
In case you haven't been counting down like the rest of us have, Theo turns three on Monday. Tune in for a special video tribute, and don't ask how much longer I can keep doing these things with every birthday because I don't know either!
Interestingly it actually seems like much longer than three years ago that we welcomed Theo into our world. It even seems like much more than a year ago that Theo was--as evidenced by the video montage I just finished assembling--sleeping in a Pack'n'Play, eating at a high chair, wearing a bib, using a binky, drinking from a sippy cup, taking 3-hour naps each day but still going to bed at 7, etc. etc. Those days all seem so far away now that we have a bona fide preschooler on our hands. Theo amazes us each day with what he observes and stores in that little blond head of his. He is not a baby anymore. He's not even a toddler anymore. He is an actual person, who can be reasoned with. (most of the time.) We love, love, LOVE having Theo in our home. What a joy. Even when he is (always) stubborn. Even when a 2-hour nap keeps him from falling asleep until 10 p.m.
Happy weekend and see you on Monday!

In regards to the Tylenol PM - I had never taken any either until about two months ago. I took one and after about 30 minutes was still awake and not really sleepy, so I took another one. Not a good idea. I didn't hear another thing until about 9:00 the next morning and then was so groggy and out of it, my whole day was ruined. Looking forward to Theo's birthday video.
The conundrum about children is that the grow!! And become more complicated.
But the growth and the complications are what make life with them so interesting and rich.
We love Theo too - and really miss him - and you and Matt and Ida too!
