Baby clothes

Although I love dressing my toddler in clothes that all but match his dad's (haven't quite convinced Matt to sport red Saltwaters yet), I am not one for putting baby-sized adult clothes on tiny babies. I like my babies to be dressed like babies, not only because it's easier for me and more comfortable for them, but also because when else in life will they get to wear one-piece jersey knit rompers? The same goes for shoes. Why in the world does a baby who can't crawl need shoes in May?

However, sometimes I can't resist dressing Ida in an outfit that I would wear myself if it were ten times bigger. Because I admit, it's kind of funny. Or really funny.

My friend MacKenzie found these shoes for me. Although they are impossibly difficult to put on my squirming baby's feet, somehow Ida can remove them within minutes. But I still love them. And I'd definitely wear them if I had some in my size.

Ahh!! I feel the exact same way about baby clothes vs. big kid clothes! Ida does look like a doll in that outfit though.

I'm one of those people who like to dress my babies is clothes I would wear (I say that like I have more then one, and a girl for that matter, I don't actually put Owen in girl's clothing, but you get what I'm saying.) However, I don't put too much stress on wearing the most fashionable thing so we're both walking around in pretty comfortable clothes. Either way, Theo and Ida always look super cute. And, I love those shoes too.

Ida and Theo would look charming in anything.

Enjoy the time Ida will let you choose her wardrobe. As I recall, you started dictating yours at a pretty young age!

I am not a big fan of shoes on little ones but I do love the Robeeze shoes!

I think Ida looks ready to model. I agree about dressing babies as babies for the reasons you mentioned, but I still also like to dress them as grown ups because it is so cute.
