The other day at the thrift store I saw a giant plaque I liked that said "Simplify." I actually considered buying it, until I realized that I would laugh at myself every time I saw it.
Kind of like that little plaque I once gave you - "Begin, the rest is easy."
As in, "Let's all begin to Simplify" or something.
I think "Simplifying" is the new or the goal to get organized is the (or are) the new glass grapes.
It's actually "hip" to say you are going to streamline - but haven't found anyone yet who is truly "streamlined" - is it really doable?
These questions are too deep - especially at 7:30 a.m. on the first day of my spring break while I'm waiting for my cleaning lady to come and thinking that I ought to take down the Easter decorations - but I keep thinking there's a better place to store them than the room in the gargage - but I'm not sure what that "better place" is - and Dad thinks the best place is to chuck them!
This year I really simplified and didn't even get out the decorations. No one missed them. When I finally got the box out I realized that I only needed the baskets and threw almost everything else away. That felt good.
I am really down to just some china rabbits that I actually enjoy looking at - and an Easter bunny soap dish that I put in the bathroom. And of course my Easter tea towels - and we don't even need baskets anymore.
The pendulum is swinging.
Although when the grandkids come by, they seem to take some joy in the decor - especially the nesting Easter bunnies - and they like to take them apart.

the plaque didn't look like this image, by the way. it wasn't in the shape of a giant gift tag.

Maybe make yourself a "simplify" sign out of a paper bag or something :)
Now there's an idea!! Perhaps we could market it - sell kits for making them - it's a goofy enough idea, it just might work!
So... was it just to be ironic?
Or maybe you could get some nice vinyl letters, to, you know, save on space :)
Babs, I am so on the Simplify bandwagon. And I like giant plaques. However, they just don't seem to go together if you know what I'm saying.

I am down to one container - which is a plus.
Reminds me of the plaque I saw at Target that said "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle."
