I haven't forgotten it.
I saw this entry on Oh Happy Day (via ffffound) a few weeks ago: a snapshot of Teddy Roosevelt's diary entry on Valentine's Day when he was 25 and his wife was 22--the day she died.
I'm not posting it here to be depressing--I'm posting it because I think it's a good reminder. Sometimes I forget how much light Matt brings into my life. I have meant it when I have said that I feel like I can do anything when he is around. It's true. I married the right person and am blessed daily for that.My kids light up my life too. A few cases in point: Ida's laugh is actually a loud grunt, and Theo recently started calling me "Bee-bee Pie" (Sweetie Pie). This February I'm resolving: be a better wife and mother to those people living in my house who deserve the best!

It's true, we do forget.
And Gretta has taken to calling me Keli. It's, well, sorta funny.
Joey F. used to call my mom and dad Bob and Mary - he was about 2 or 3 at the time - they were living there and I guess heard them calling each other Bob and Mary and so he assumed, correctly actually, that those were their names!
We do indeed forget - I keep reading that it's because we trust those we love and so don't "worry" so much about being cognizant of it all the time.
I love "bee-bee pie."
I also love how husbands help us be better and enlighten us.
