Nighttime outing

Sometimes, especially on cold winter nights, we pick Matt up from the metro around (or a little past) the kids' bedtimes. I often complain about it but generally I would rather do it than (a) pay $4.50 a day for him to park (b) make him not see his kids for days on end (c) wait an extra 15 minutes for him to walk and keep wrangling the kids myself so that they can see him for 5 minutes before bed. Plus I personally like to see him sooner rather than later.

Often during the day but almost always at night I am extremely mismatched. When we get "The Text" from Matt indicating that "It's Time" to pick him up, I slip on these shoes over my socks despite how cute it is not, because it's just so easy. And sometimes I leave my apron on under my coat.

Theo's coat and scarf go over his PJs. And last year's off-brand Robeez (which he calls his dog shoes) because they are easy to put on. All in all a very nice look.

Then there's tiny little sleepy Ida. On a night like this she may just wear to bed whatever she had on during the day.

Good thing we don't have paparazzi stalkers because we are a ragtag bunch on these nighttime outings. But in February at 7:30 p.m. it's really too cold to walk home alone.

But if anyone can pull it off, it's you.

I have so been there :D

On a side note - Caroline and Ida have the same cute jacket! I just posted a picture in my blog of her in that yesterday!

I sometimes feel like I have to make a disclaimer the second I see Sterling on days like that..."I wasn't wearing this all day I promise!!!"

These pictures are great, love all the outfits.

I have to give myself a pep talk sometimes to leave the house at night. A bubble bath or my bed is always calling me.

I am all about the aprons. Once it's on it's not coming off until I go to bed. I just feel so domestic and cozy in them.

Glad we are keeping the tradition alive!!

Wow. You're a better wife than I am. Tell Matt how lucky he is.
