Resolved!

I have been catching up on my blogging a little bit. It appears that some bloggers out there are revolting against New Year's Resolutions. I am not with them. I love New Year's Resolutions! Really! I love a clean slate and I LOVE a good list. Plus, as I said yesterday, I don't get all mopey if I don't actually do them, because most of the time I lose the list and forget what was on it. Also, I like making resolutions for my kids. Ida: sleep through the night! Theo: stop imitating Ida's screams!

So anyway, this year I would like to fit into the jeans I fit into at the beginning of 2008. I would also like to start making my own bread. Today I was feeling ambitious and I put on the jeans that I fit into before my second pregnancy. Score! They zipped all the way up! Check one off the list! I wore them for about 30 minutes before I realized that these jeans are really not quite wearable yet. Do you like how I worded that to make it sound like it's the jeans's fault? Anyway so I caught a glimpse in the mirror and shuddered a little. Then Ida spit up all over my leg and that clinched it. I did not need to be wearing those anymore.

So I'm going to forget about the jeans for a while. Maybe check back with me in June or so, in case I forget completely. Also check with me about the bread, because my wheat grinder is taking up an awful lot of space in the pantry and I haven't even learned how to use it yet.

I'll be happy to send you my bread recipe.

It's really quite simple.

And good.

I have the best wheat bread recipe. I will bring it when I come to DC. You make up the bread, put it in the fridge, then bake it the next day. It is great. I make it most every week. We have a wheat grinder as well.

I love new beginnings, a new year, a new week, a new day. All are perfect for resolutions.

Barbara, I'd love your bread recipe too! I've also been meaning to start baking my own bread. I've been baking a lot, and I figure I should start baking something that isn't dessert.

I'd like Alice's recipe - I keep saying I'm going to make bread, but never do.

Maybe I will resolve to do it!

And I will send my recipe to Eliza!

It is the jeans fault.

I promise. I know jeans.

Also, if it helps I'm totally jealous that you can even zip them up already. Mine takes six months to fit back in with a shudder, and nine months to be comfortable. I'm trying not to envy.
