More decisions.

Does anyone have experience with an Ergo or a Beco?

Since I don't want to get a double stroller anytime soon, and our Baby Bjorn only lasted us about 4 months last time (although it was great for those 4 months), I want to get a structured carrier that's designed to wear in front or back, from newborn to toddler. Also, I didn't love wearing a sling once Theo got heavier.

I was planning on getting an Ergo--never met an Ergo owner who wasn't obsessed--and then found out about the Beco. After having spent an hour reading online about Ergo vs. Beco vs. a zillion other structured carriers (Babyhawk, Angel Pack...), I am leaning toward Beco. It's lighter, taller, and not as bulky-looking, and there's much more to choose from in terms of fabrics.

But as always I thought I'd put it to you to give me your opinion, should you have one. I'm not sure whether I will get feedback here since most of the Ergo owners I've met have been strangers and I've never seen any of my friends or family with a Beco.

I used the Ergo once when Sawyer was about a year old. I had borrowed it from a friend because we were touring the Pentagon and could not get a stroller inside. I had him in it close to three hours, and it was surprisingly comfortable. Sawyer was nearing 20 lbs at the time and I expected my back to be killing me, but I was just fine. I really liked the Ergo. Unfortunately I know nothing about the Beco.

Oh and by the way, the best double stroller I have found (smallest and easiest to push) has been the Phil and Ted's E3. I used it when Sawyer was an infant and I still push both my boys around in it. It was a little pricey, but it fits in my small car and has some really cool features. Just some food for thought...

Good Luck! ~amber

That Beco Butterfly II is adorable. I'd buy that one on looks alone. I know nothing about baby carriers, I'm not a close-to-me kind of parent. I get hot enough on my own.

And as far as double strollers go, I love the Sit and Stand. Such a good idea. I don't own one, since my kids are too big to ride, but the people I know that have it, love it.

Amber, do you have the inline one (that is, top and bottom) or the twin (side by side) one?

Hmmm, all this new fangled baby stuff. Good luck!
BTW Did you see the pack n'play covers at Target? So cute, but $40. Really? I don't think they are worth $40.

haven't seen the pnp covers at target, just seen them online at various places--but online they are a lot more than $40! I have to agree that either way they should be cheaper. but especially at target since it's guaranteed they mass-produce.

do you remember the brand name? i am headed to target today, maybe...i'll keep an eye out.

I have the inline stroller and I cannot say enough good things about it! I started using it right after Sawyer was born and I still use it almost daily. It is really easy to push and really nice and compact, (which was a huge thing when we were looking at double strollers.) We had a little problem with wear and tear, it pulled at a few of the seams and we had a small hole in the basket net, but we called the company and they sent us a complete replacement, no questions asked. We also bought the cup holder accessory, which has been very helpful. We bought it at Buy Buy Baby, down in Springfield, and they had a pretty good selection of strollers to compare it to. You can always go down there and take it for a test drive and then try and price it down online.
