Retraction!

The other day I stopped by a nearby Wendy's and ordered me a Chocolate Fudge Frosty Shake. The following two things lead me to believe that on my previous visit to a different, yet also nearby Wendy's--you know, the visit that prompted an entire blog post about the delicious dairy dessert that I consumed--I did not in fact get a Frosty Shake but did in fact get a regular Frosty:

This concoction:

1) Had whipped cream and a cherry on top--I'm pretty sure the one I got last time did not.
2) Was gross.

I'm sorry if I misled anyone to believe that the new Frosty Shake is good without solid evidence. Now I need to make a few more stops at Wendy's in order to find the truth. I will need to go to both Wendy's (Wendy'ses?), and order a Frosty Shake and a Frosty from each. Then, I hope, I will know if the new Frosty really is better, or if it's the shake that's better and I got a bad one the second time.

I may also need to try the Vanilla Frosty, as well as the Vanilla Bean Frosty Shake. Perhaps even the Strawberry Frosty Shake; too bad there's no Strawberry Frosty to even things out.

By the way, Theo loved the Chocolate Fudge Frosty Shake in all of its Hershey's-syrup glory, but his is not the most discerning palate. By the way by the way, he finally learned how to drink out of a straw. He is an official straw-drinker after a long, hard road of being utterly confounded by the straw, and I therefore cannot resist frequently buying or making shakes and other sweet beverages to sip together through a straw.

Speaking of which: the presence of the straw in my Frosty Shake should have been another indicator that it was not the treat for me, since a real Frosty is too thick to sip through a straw.

If you need company on all those trips to Wendy's please call. I am always in the mood for ice cream (even bad ice cream and I am ashamed to admit that).

I have never been a Frosty fan - odd since I took you guys there a lot.

well, I was a bit surprised that you preferred the new shake over the old frosty. It is dark chocolate, which is always a plus, but I really think it's entirely different and I can't pick one over the other. Different ice-cream for different day, but probably I'd pick a traditional frosty more of the time.

I, too, was given a regular frosty when I requested a frosty shake. Upon realizing this mistake, I went back through the drive-thru, and had them promptly correct this. As I pulled out of the drive-thru with my new shake in hand, I took a big gulp of chilly goodness, only to be rewarded with a mouth full of rotten milk flavor. I again promptly returned to the drive-thru, and demanded my money back. After receiving my refund, I headed home. I passed by another Wendy's, and thought I still wanted a shake. I got a new shake, at the new Wendy's, and it tasted EXACTLY the same! Gross. I will never.....

gross, i don't consider the shake dark chocolate at all! i consider it hershey's syrup flavored.

i had another frosty yesterday and i can't remember if it's as good as that initial one from a few months ago, or if it's the same as the "old" frosty.

speaking of which, i went to ANOTHER (third) wendy's a few days ago and they were out of chocolate (that is to say, original) frosties! out of them! what! you could get vanilla but not chocolate. that has never happened to me before.

OK, so glad you cleared this up. I wasn't about to call you out on it, but I had the frosty shake, and thought, eww gross! So, then, I read your blog and thought, wait, maybe there is a NEW one that I didn't get. Tried to order it, and they told me they didn't have a fudge frosty shake??? Confusion. Anyway, to make a long story short, I am glad you cleared that up!
