I can still recall our last summer.

Matt and I were discussing our plans for the rest of the summer and realized:

There are exactly 2 Weeks Left of summer.

HOW did this happen??

Now you should know that by "summer" I mean "days that the pool is open."

It's hot here in September and I will still be pregnant...therefore I really wish the pool were open in September. I don't think it's too much to ask--it's not like we live in Norway or something. Don't they know about pregnant women? Don't they know about how much my toddler lives for the "babboo"? (It's genius for post-nap crankiness, "Let's go to the pool!" "Babboo!") Don't they know I haven't taken enough advantage of the pool this summer--despite the fact that we've gone almost every day--and that it is officially too hard for me to jog now, even a little painful to walk sometimes, and I don't have a gym membership? Swimming laps and the occasional downward dog were my only gravity-defying hope.

Also, Labor Day is somewhat early this year, as in, as early as it could possibly be, being on September 1. If the calendar were just tweaked a little, I'd have A Whole 'Nother week of the pool.

These facts having come to light so very clearly yesterday afternoon, we went to the pool last night and I glided through my paltry "500" (in quotes because IMO our pool is not quite 25 meters long) while Theo and Matt played, despite the fact that it was 70 and dropping and no one else was there and we made the lifeguards leave their Nickelback-blaring office to come watch us.

I guess we will have to switch to indoor for a month and pony up the entrance fee because I am not ready to give it up.

I changed my mind about fall, I want summer to stay! I just want the pool to stay open until the baby gets here! Is that too much to ask!

What is there rationale for only leaving it open until Labor Day?

Maybe you should get up a petition.

I remember when I was pregnant with Phoebe - we went to the Bountiful pool every day - but I guess since it was Utah, it started getting cool after Labor Day so I didn't notice.

Maybe. Or maybe I just forgot.

I don't remember heat being the biggest issue when she was 11 days late!!

Did you see Mamma Mia?

Let's face it, though. Indoor pools just aren't the same. And not as close. Maybe you can just hop the fence.

I haven't, Nicole...I'm planning on adding it to my Netflix queue. I want to see it, but not enough to pay the $. Lately I have very little desire to pay $12 ($24 if it's a date) to see movies.
