The D.C. Fire Department red flashlight, Theo's favorite toy, came to its untimely demise yesterday. It is peacefully resting somewhere in the aisles of Target, or more likely by now in a Dumpster. I think I might be more traumatized than Theo about this, because it was really cute to see him toddle around holding that thing like a mini Boy Scout on a mini campout. He was obsessed. He ate with it, slept with it, would have bathed with it if I hadn't remembered flashlights and water don't go together. I think he misses it.Now the flashlight will have to live on in our memories, and in these photos.

He is the cutest. Maybe you could find another one just like it?
Yes, I think flashlights are pretty replaceable.
I never realized what a great gift they were for kids until Frances sent them to Bonny and Harry one Christmas when they were 2 and 4. They pretty much ignored every other gift and focused on the flashlights - and ran down the batteries in one day!
You're right about replacing.
However I have to admit that this morning, in the bottomless pit of my purse, I found the flashlight. Embarrassing! I had better think up a new post, quick.
Matt will not be at ALL surprised to learn this. I am such a momnesiac...plus...the purse really is bottomless.
