11. Alex and I met in sixth grade science class and have never left each other's side since. Okay, maybe we have. But she is one of the few friends I still keep in touch with from the olden days.
12. Alice is my mom's sister and my cousin Hester's mom (also mom to 8 other notable cousins), and lives in Bolivia. Also she's really good at sewing.
13. Megan I know through Hannah, although I could have known her through my freshman year boyfriend, Joel, or through my husband, Matt, because she knew both of them too. Favorite quote: "I had huge hair before I got a pamphlet in the fourth grade telling me how to look my best."
14. Amy is my cousin (in-law), married to my cousin Jake, whose mom is also Alice. I have known her for about as long as Jake has known her. Weird! I just realized her new blog template is really cute; I read it through RSS so I am slow to pick up on these things.
15. AnnDee is married to Taylor, Matt's friend from elementary school. They started dating the same time Matt and I did and got married about 1 1/2 years earlier than we did. I guess they just had a better handle on things. Her kids are adorable but her blog's private--sorry!
16. Annie is married to Matt's brother. They are expecting #3 any day now. I have to say, I completely sympathize with the pain of those final weeks, but then again, her babies are always early!
17. Amber may have a blog but I haven't found it. She went to school with my sister and I went to school with her sister. Go Wildcats!
18. Alicia is a multi-talented musician with two adorable boys. Also I recently learned that her husband can do the splits in the air...or used to be able to, anyway.
19. Ashley-o's blog is curiously devoid of posts, but I am sure they would be lovely. In a word, that's how you can describe Ashley and her family: lovely.
20. Ashley (a different Ashley) is, as far as I know, blogless. She and I lived together in Vienna long, long ago (okay, not that long ago). She's one of my most thoughtful friends and is a fearless tourist who shares my love for Jerry Seinfeld and didn't mind (too much) when I got phone calls in the middle of the night across the Atlantic from Matt. Also I am suddenly recalling the dead turtle that hung on our wall.
That's all for today, folks...tune in again soon to find out just how many Ashleys read this blog.

These are fun!
I am really enjoying this. How fun to see the variety of people that read your blog.
Eliza,
What a great idea to introduce us all. You have a large following, not a surprise since your blogs are always interesting and clever. I have to say, I may have to eat some humble pie. I've been telling everyone and counting on this baby coming a week early and that would be tomorrow. I'm beginning to think it's not going to happen. I am scheduled now to be induced on April 2nd. Still a week away. YIKES!!!
I could see how if you were used to going early, it would make it that much harder to wait. For me, most people in my family tend to be born late, so I was expecting that. I actually scheduled an induction for January 11 and ended up having Theo on January 11, without being induced. I think the threat of induction may have helped things along. ;) I bet you will go into labor on your own before April 2! Maybe an April Fool's baby. Or maybe tomorrow, or maybe today!
Not just the number of Ashley's, but the number of people whose names begin with A! Or maybe you're doing it in alphabetical order? Anyway, you have a lot of friends. I'll have to ask AnnDee for her blog....
I recently realized that the "permissions" list in Blogger is in alphabetical order by e-mail address, not by user name, with the exception of the first 5 or 6 on the list, oddly enough.
Whoa, now I feel like I need to actually write things on my blog instead of just threatening to every year or so.
It's so funny to see my nickname on your blog, and thank you for the sweet compliment!
As for my blog, it's a new idea that's waiting for me to have some time--lends to the suspense, right? I didn't realize that other people would be able to find it at this early stage.
