...Think it's gonna be an early spring? If it is not already your tradition, may I recommend viewing Groundhog Day sometime soon if not tonight. It is in my personal top five--top three, even?--and that alone may be reason enough for you.
This morning I awoke to the melodious sound of birds chirping outside my window. Birds chirping! I was in heaven. Spring is my favorite, as are birds chirping outside my window in the morning.
Apparently Punxsutawney Phil did see his shadow (thumbs down); however, General Beauregard Lee of Georgia, another groundhog of whose existence I was only made aware today, did NOT see his shadow (thumbs up). I would be willing to bet that Georgians will have an earlier spring than their northern neighbors in Pennsylvania, so this split decision does in fact make sense.
All I care about is that we get an early spring here.

My absolute favorite line from the movie:
"Needlenose Ned"? "Ned the Head"? C'mon, buddy. Case Western High. I did the whistling belly-button trick at the high school talent show? Bing. Ned Ryerson, got the shingles real bad senior year, almost didn't graduate? Bing, again. Ned Ryerson, I dated your sister Mary Pat a couple of times until you told me not to anymore?
I love the Ned scenes too.
Matt's favorite line is at the piano teacher's house:
"You say this is your first lesson?"
"Yes, but my father was a piano mover, so."
I have a lot of favorites. One is, "Groundhog Day used to mean something in this town. They used to pull the hog out, and they used to eat it." Another is, "Do you ever have deja vu, Mrs. Lancaster?" "I don't think so, but I could check with the kitchen."
I have yet to see it all the way through. Maybe next year...
I am always hoping for an early spring. Although around here and early spring just means more rain with somewhat higher temps.
I watched it yesterday and I always laugh at the same lines.
One in particular is "Yeah, there hicks Rita."
Love that movie. Aaron and lost ours in the move and spent 3 hours going from store to store on ground hogs day just to buy another one and to watch it.
seeing as I'm in Georgia...YAY!! I hope we get an early spring. :)
