Theo has now slept all night for a record four nights in a row. Okay, so actually I don't know if he would have slept for that long if I hadn't "dream-fed" him as they say, right before going to bed myself at 10:30ish. But anyway he's gone to bed at 7:30 or 8 and woken up at about 5:30, at which time he eats and we all doze until 6 or 7 and then the day begins. He even slept all night last night, after both naps being screwed up yesterday (my jet-setting fault).
I cannot tell you the joy that this brings to us. He has done it before, so I know it's possible, but never consistently at all.
Even if it does not last, I am savoring it now.

I guess I was really spoiled or fortunate or both, but all of you slept through the night from at least 6 weeks of age - Bonny at 3 weeks!
Phoebe however was always a fan of the midnight snack - but since I was up anyway, I called that sleeping through the night!
Yeah, yeah. I know all about it.
You also put your babies on their stomach and I think that might have something to do with it. Since he's started sleeping on his stomach (of his own accord) he has slept much more soundly. Which obviously is one of the SIDS problems, but there's not much I can do about it since if I roll him over he just rolls back--and he sleeps better this way.
I understand all the SIDS data, but there really are a lot of babies who slept their whole lives on their stomachs with no dire consequences. So I'm glad I didn't know about it until my kids were raised - and you are right - once they can turn over on their own, they tend to sleep on their stomachs.
Hey, I think stomach is way more comfortable. I guess T thinks so too. He seems to be handling it fine. I don't put any blankets or anything else in the crib with him, and like I said I put him down on his back and he rolls over on his own, so I figure he is OK. Plus, the SIDS chance is already slim and goes way down by the time babies are 6 months.
All I know is, I feel like a whole new me if I've had a decent night's sleep!
Hey!
Thanks for the comment! That was really helpful! We'll see what I come up with. My husband thinks I'm spending way too much time on this announcement. Oh well!
p.s. I saw on your sidebar that your hubby I assume is getting sworn in? I'm assuming to the bar. .. That's cool.. my hubby is an attorney too, he got sworn in last Oct.
pps... i'm looking forward to the days that my little ezra sleeps through the night... not quite yet.
Your baby is super cute!
usually our entire household sleeps through the night - but last night annika woke me up as she was snuggled against my back (not sure what brought it about) and the night before esme' woke up with a sore throat.
and i have to say i was not as energetic and chipper as i usually am those following mornings.
Um, yeah . . . I pretty much knew this would happen because I have a habit of jinxing myself, but Theo woke up at 3:30 this morning and then again at 4:30. Nice. Very nice.
Yes Eliza, you must learn never to speak of these things, or they will be jinxed. Even if your child is three and has been sleeping through the night for years. They will wake up calling your name several times during the night, just to make you eat your words!
After almost a week of waking up in the middle of the night again he slept from 10 to 6 last night.
I need to share this because it makes me feel so GREAT!
And I am fully prepared for the screaming at 3 to start again tonight, but anyway.
