I am really enjoying this painting by Tomislav Torjanac.
Mr. Torjanac has also illustrated a version of The Cat and the Devil by James Joyce, one of my very favorite children's books which is surprisingly hard to find and perhaps shall merit its own post on here someday. Unfortunately for me, this edition is available in Croatian and Slovenian and apparently not English (yet).
And with that I am going to stop blogging and get back to work because Mr. T is slumbering peacefully and who knows how long that will last.
Lest there be confusion, by Mr. T I am referring to my son, Theo, and not to Mr. Torjanac.

It looks like it ought to be an illustration for Wizard of Oz!
Well that picture is. I just like that particular painting, but the only reason it's related to The Cat and the Devil is the artist who painted it also did illustrations for The Cat and the Devil (none of which included a lion, tin man, or scarecrow).
Didn't mean to be confusing.
We found yet another version of the book somewhere on the internet a couple of years ago when we were looking for a gift. It was much older than ours, but maybe not as likable because it was not as familiar. The Torjanac illustrated version looks very cool.
Eliza gave me a version for my birthday... it's pretty funny. And my roommates speak Croatian.
Not that the book needs translating I guess.
