Anniversary

One year ago today I found out I was pregnant with Theo. May 1st, it's easy to remember. I just realized when I saw the date on my last post.

So now I am reminiscing. I can still picture the moment exactly (even this long, long time later...ha)--It was a Monday morning, I had just woken up, Matt was downstairs eating breakfast, and it was the third pregnancy test I had nervously taken in the course of a week or so. I was extremely, EXTREMELY nervous this time. Even though I knew what I wanted the test to say, I didn't know what I wanted the test to say. I remember standing in the guest bathroom, which is more of a powder room, in my in-laws' house in Salt Lake, where we were living at the time.

I stood and stared at the test for maybe a few minutes after seeing the results. Now I knew what I wanted it to say, but I was still nervous. I remember exactly how the sunlight came in through the window. I was wearing a gray and white striped T-shirt (which I only just recently fit into again, incidentally) and pink pajama pants, and I was late for work. I heard Matt pass in the hall outside, my heart started beating super-fast, and I cracked the door open. I was still nervous. "Hey Matt," I whispered loudly, "Come in here! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS." I don't think Matt was that surprised, but it was so very surreal to me.

So surreal that I actually kept the test for like a week afterward, in a drawer, and I checked on it occasionally, I guess to make sure the (+) hadn't turned into a (-) or something.

It still feels surreal thinking about it.

I don't remember anything else about the day, just that nervous, happy moment.

Now here we all are one year later...ta DA!

i think it's interesting, and i wonder if this is true all around, i have been nervous EVERY TIME I took a pregnancy test.

And I still have all my tests from all my babies - weird, but true.

That was a nice story.

So what were the results of the first two pregnacy tests?

The first two were negative.

Interesting Bonny...it never occurred to me to save the test (once I was pretty sure it wasn't going to turn into a minus sign). But, that's a fun little keepsake.

I still have the pregnancy test from someone - but I don't remember who - or even where it is anymore.

I remember finding out that we were pregnant with Bonny. That's way back when you had to call the dr. to get your test results. I was working at the U of U and so Dad and I went to a pay phone and called.

We were pretty excited - but being in public and all we were pretty subdued - had to wait to go outside and start skipping!!

Aw, that's adorable - it makes me excited for that moment in my own life!!

And on another note, the video of Theo in your sidebar is also adorable! And it's nice to see you too. :)

I love reminicing on those kind of events. I was driving just a couple days ago and realized at this time one year ago I was pregnant. It's funny what time does.
