I didn't watch the Oscars this year, mostly because I saw a total of 2 movies in the theater in 2006, since I'm poor.
I never saw Dreamgirls but I wanted to. Am I the only one who recalled with fondness Celebrity Hot Tub when I saw Eddie Murphy in the previews? Probably not.
I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the lone hater of Beyonce. I have no desire to see Dreamgirls, aside from the fact that the rest of the world (sans Eliza) has seen it.
Ooh, do tell, why the Beyonce hate? Personally I'm indifferent...but just curious.
Re: Dreamgirls, main reasons I want to see it are Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson. I had never heard of JH until this year's Oscars and I'm very intrigued after having seen a clip of one of her scenes. Apparently she was amazing.
I think I'm just one of those that can't "follow the crowd" when it comes to celebrities. Never been a fan of the main stream popular ones. I like a more low profile, classic kind of celebrity. Beyonce is just too much for me. Jennifer Hudson seems like a good reason to see the movie, though.
my fave comment re Eddie was on someone's blog (Hannah???)and they talked about Norbit and asked if anyone could remember the last time Eddie Murphy was funny.
that made me laugh.
and i haven't seen dreamgirls - and i probably won't until i'm old and bruce and i are invalids and stuck watching old movies on tv.

Dad kept wanting to see Dreamgirls - and I wasn't oppposed - but we kept seeing other stuff I wanted to see more.
But maybe we'll go see it this weekend.
Or not! (I recall that we have a busy weekend coming up!)
