It Was a Very Good Year
While we were visiting my parents for the holidays, Matt and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary in Newport Beach, 'cause we're so OC like that. What it was like to be us that exciting, exciting December 27th:

We hung out on the pier, which stunk like stinky dead fish, so we didn't hang out for too long, but I like looking at the houses on the hills and pretending that I live in one.

Matt actually went in the water. Brr.

Matt dozed on the sand while I watched the surfers and pretended I could surf, similar to watching multimillion dollar houses and pretending I live in one.

Then we went to the Newport Beach temple around sunset; I made the mistake of not capturing the gorgeous sky on film and instead tried to take pictures later--our camera does not do well with night shots. The NB temple is beautiful--I like how it's sort of pinkish colored, and I like the domed top, and I like the palm trees--but it sort of looks like any other temple in this pic. Ah well.

Trick of light, or actual neon green horns? We may never know.

Well, so that's that. Two years of wedded bliss. I'm not going to lie, it was rather nice exchanging this (our backyard)

for this (not our backyard)

even for just a few days. But I like wherever I am...because Matt's there too. AWW!

Glad to see you guys had fun in SoCal. I'm jealous. Sean and I spent our 2nd anniversary in Newport Beach as well, and we were married on Dec. 30th. Weird! You are too cute.
You could make it a goal to live in lovely SoCal - I could dig that!!
i second the so cal nomination!
We missed you by a day. Shelly and I were at the NB temple on the 28th. We spent the day at Laguna and Huntington.
Nothing like a SoCal winter day.
