Flashback Lunch

Been looking through some old blogs. Here's me 3 years ago today:

"Let me tell you, don't ever bring applesauce in Tupperware to school in your backpack. It's just a bad idea. Everything in your backpack will wind up with a thin sticky applesaucey film. I warn you from recent personal experience, as recent as this morning, even."

Hm.

2 years ago:

"Well, just to update, I broke up with Matt last night. I mean like really broke up, like I’ll probably never see him again....

"It’s just sad knowing I’ll never see him again. Well maybe someday, but probably not."

And one year after that, Matt and I were married. A year after that, Matt and I are still married. Yet despite the brilliant progress in the Matt department, I continue to spill applesauce--nay, all types of food--not just in backpacks, but in purses, on clothes, on the floor, in the car, on other people. This happens at least once a day.

Last night while watching TV, I saw a commercial for Boston Legal and realized that is the show that Monica Potter has just recently joined...so you see my confusion, esp since I generally only watch L&O reruns. Odd that separate new girls, both resembling Julia Roberts, would join law shows at the same time. Anyway...sorry to have rambled on in correctly about Monica Potter.

Spilling applesauce is not so bad - it washes out. Wait until you feel like you scrape up big cars or trucks (see Dad's posting) What's a little applesauce - it's so wholesome!

How funny--I saw the same commercial! (Well, maybe not the exact same. But if yours was during Desperate Housewives, it's possible.) And I had a similar thought. "Hey, there's the real Monica Potter. Weird."

I still like the story about her and Adam Duritz, though. Way to go Adam.

P.S. Mom: true about applesauce. Also true about scraping up big cars and trucks being worse than spilling food. Only...I've done both. So...I guess what I'm trying to say is, the first thought I have when I spill food isn't usually, "Well, at least I didn't wreck the car." Although I may take that stance from now on. It might make me less fretful about my clumsiness.

Too bad about Dad's truck. (FYI for all of those who aren't my mom: my dad accidentally bent his driver-side door on his relatively new truck this weekend. Bent it so that it won't close anymore. Severe bummer.)
