Guess what...I HATE the blog! Boo to blogs. I've tried twice in the past week, and both times I had these long old entries that got deleted. Bah. So now I'm always going to do the copy-paste thing, just to be safe. The problem with that is that sometimes the apostrophes and quote marks change to question marks after you paste em. Eh well.
Well - just to summarize, if I may...well, actually, I did write a ton of stuff on those other 2 blogs. I don't really remember everything. But I'll make an outline. Haha, I love making outlines. It reminds me of biology notes in 9th grade, Mr. Van Norden's class.
I. One more month in Provo! Well, a month and a week. About 5 weeks.
A. I'm SO sick of school. I mean, it's nice at times, but sometimes I feel like I'm pounding myself into the ground trying to get my work done!
1. Honestly. School = bad.
2. But it's always a nice feeling when you know you've worked hard.
B. However, I'm going to miss this place a little. I mean, I'll be gone for 8 months! That's almost a year. It's about a whole school year. It's a long time, all right? There's not that much stuff I will miss, but I'll miss Hester a lot, and a few guys.
II. Speaking of guys, as always...my new favorite is Matt. He's the one who took me to the hospital a few times, remember? For hot chocolate. And he always ends every conversation with, "Is there anything else you feel like you need to talk to me about?"
A. I'm pretty sure he likes me. But he's way cool and pretty funny. We've been out like 3 times or whatever, and then he didn't call for almost a week, and I was kind of sad because like I said he's my favorite, and then he called two nights ago and asked if I could hang out sometime this week. Then he corrected himself, "Actually, I guess I should ask do you WANT to hang out sometime this week, not COULD you. I don't want to be annoying." He said he knows too many girls who rag on guys that call them all the time, and so he was a little paranoid. I said of course I wanted to hang out with him, because he's really fun. And he said, "It's just that it seems like the chips are kinda stacked against me, because you?re going home and then you?ll be in Austria, and you have a lot of guys calling you..." and I reminded him, because we've had a similar discussion before, that not that many guys call me, and anyway, it's not like I just sit and humor them if I don?t want to talk. And he said, "Well, if they don't, they should, cause you've got a lot going for you." I don't know; he's just cute. He?s like really sarcastic but really quiet. It's funny. He actually reminds me of Joel more than any other guy I've gone out with. He has to work like every night for the rest of the month, so he took me out last night to dinner and a movie, which was fun.
B. Back to how I feel about him...for some reason I kind of get nervous around him. Partly because he's so sarcastic. And partly because I'm attracted to him. And I always get the giggles like really bad. I pointed this out to him last night...I said, "I don't know why I always get the giggles around you, I mean you're not that funny." (Ha, ha, good one.) I said, "Maybe I'm just nervous," only half-kidding, and he said, "Well I'm nervous. You're intimidating." That's always nice to hear. He said it in a nice way though. He said it was because of my "physical appearance," and that made me laugh because I got this image in my head of him going out with this big huge hulking girl with like fangs and fur and stuff. Of course I knew what he REALLY meant about my "physical appearance" being "intimidating," and I was flattered. Because I kind of like him, and you want guys you like to think you're pretty, right? Anyway. He said something like I was "pleasing to behold" or something like that that would sound horrible and cheesy coming from most people - haha, Hester practically gagged when I told her about it - but it sounded like something Joel would say. Honestly. I know I shouldn't compare him to Joel, but can I help it? I compare every guy to Joel.
C. This kinda goes along with the whole leaving Provo thing - I'm kinda sad about leaving because of people like Matt. I mean he's so cool, but it was just bad timing because we've only really hung out since last month, and I'm leaving next month. But then again, it might be a good thing because if I stayed, then what if I started dating him seriously, and then fell in love with him and then had a mess on my hands? Haha. Argh. I know that's jumping the gun a little - okay maybe a lot. But it could happen, right?
IV. I think it's funny that I actually sat and wrote this in outline form, haha.
V. Even though I'm going to miss Hester, and the social life is going to be a big change, I'm so excited to come home! Wa hoo! It's like 65 or 70 degrees outside, and I've got spring fever, big time. Mmmmkay, I think I'm done. I'll keep y'all posted, if I can! If the blog doesn't let me down a 3rd time. With love and squalor, Eliza
