Christmas sneaks up on me before I expect it. I love it though. I’m pretty strict about not starting Christmas until after Thanksgiving, although admittedly I put our outside Christmas lights up last week because we had a couple of warm days and I seized the moment.

I wasn’t always this way—I used to start the Christmas music on October 1. But at some point in recent years I got Christmas-musicked out and decided I needed to make it a December thing. I mean the stores start Christmas as soon as the pools close, but it’s more fun for me to focus on each holiday as it comes.

Anyway I’m thankful for Christmas, and for the warmth and holiness of the season of celebrating Jesus... and as a side note, I should also probably start my shopping soon. I used to have that done in October too. Oh well, times and seasons.
