There's no arguing--Lars gets the swankiest seat in the place.
This is a picture from our road trip to Maine last summer. This was the part of the trip where Matt suddenly realized he hadn't actually ever been to Vermont (the main purpose of the trip was to visit Maine, which he said was the only state he hadn't visited besides Alaska) and he insisted that driving two hours out of our way just to cross the Vermont state line, and sit in Vermont for 2 minutes, was a good idea.
Well anyway. The point of this post is that I'm thankful for our cars. I have given Matt a hard time over the years about having two cars (we have two, and I think we only need one) but the reality is that life with 3 kids and 2 jobs and multiple church callings just runs really smoothly with two cars. Don't tell him I said that.
Mind you, neither car is big or fancy (I drive a 10-year-old Highlander and he drives a Mazda 3 that's almost as old) but they both fit all 5 of us (mine fits 7 in a pinch) and they get the job done. They've been reliable and I have no complaints about them. I wouldn't say I treat myself to too many luxuries in life, but having two cars is something that definitely feels like a treat, and I don't take it for granted. I'm thankful for our cars.
