Our next water day was at a local pool/water park in Arlington called Ocean Dunes. We used coupons from the library summer reading program to get in for free. It wasn't a very hot day, so I suggested going to a park instead, but was shouted down, since it was after all Water Day. Glad to see they are so firm on tradition. Then of course once we were actually there and the coolness of the pool and of the air were a reality, the kids got in a little gingerly, but once they warmed up they had a great time. Ida and Theo were both reluctant to practice swimming (since they'd have to go underwater and get completely wet) but they did it. Only for about 5 minutes, mind you. I let them play and be kids the rest of the time. I sound a little bit like a crazy mom in this post. Well, it's fitting.
Very cute little park; we'll definitely go again. On a hot day next time.
