I hope you had a lovely Groundhog Day.
I've seen this movie maybe...20 times? and every time I love it more. I love the progression of Phil Connors' character and how he grows to really love Rita and does what it takes to become good enough for her. So awesome. It's much deeper than it seems, Billy Murray haters!

I like this movie, but thought it would be annoying to watch more than once. Maybe I'm wrong. JD was telling me that he heard that the people that live in the town where the movie was filmed were also actors in the film and still play their "characters" from the movie. Not sure if I believe it, but thought you might want to know if you love the movie. :)
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog the other day. I wish you did live here! But, I'm glad that you have some good friends there too.
Meredith--totally not annoying to watch more than once. Of course I didn't think it was annoying to watch it the first time. I know some people did. :) I think it's always funny and always deep. Hence my Groundhog Day obsession. I don't decorate for any holiday but Christmas, but darn it if I don't watch Groundhog Day every single February 2. Maybe one of these days I will get tired of it. For now, we have kinda been alternating years with watching the movie itself one year and the director's commentary the next. ha!
You're welcome for the very long comment on your blog. ;)
Also, re: the extras acting their characters, I wouldn't be surprised! Some of it was filmed in some town in Ohio and some of it was filmed in Punxsutawney, PA.
I've seen it maybe 100 times and I still love it. One of my favorite movies for sure. Never get tired of it. "Ned? Ned Ryetson?"
*Ryerson :/
And "fix your bra Doris"
On Saturday when we realized it was groundhog day my kids instantly said -- oh Aunt Eliza LOVES that movie! so funny -- had a little groundhog day moment for you.
Happy February!
