I made the unfortunate mistake of mentioning to the kids on Monday morning that we could "maybe" go to the playground later that day. Of course I hadn't looked at the weather report and it was pouring rain by noon. Theo got home from his playdate and they looked at me expectantly, wondering out loud when we were going to the park. I think they actually blamed me for the rain.
After we had exhausted all the indoor running around and climbing options, Theo came up with a solution: making a playground out of Tinker Toys. Not as good as the real thing but still fun.

(Sorry my pictures are lit so badly. I am still on our tiny laptop and have zero photo software. I should just download something.)
Theo and Ida were both acting a little funny this week. Ida slept a LOT and Theo was extra moody.
Turned out that both kids got pinkeye and Theo got a feverish stomach flu. (so, so sad.) Kids are taking antibiotic eye drops--now those are fun for everybody--and Theo ate dinner last night and breakfast today, so I think everyone is on the mend now. Phew.

okay, that playground is hilarious. i love tiny things. eve would also totally appreciate it.
I used to get pinkeye all the time when I was kid - not fun. They didn't give us antibiotics - just this oozy cream we had to put in our eyes - yucky!
Hope everyone is on the mend - stomach flu is not my fave at all!!
And I love the playground too!
That playground is awesome, just like Theo.
Glad everyone is feeling better. That playground is way creative!
Yes, if you mention that you 'might' do something to kids (like go to the park) they take it as 'will' and never forget.
Making a playground is a very cute option.
Hate the sicks. We just got done with one having a fever and cough for 5 days, and now we have two more starting up. Fun, fun.
Glad things are on the mend at your house!
That playground is unbelievable! I love those pictures!
Awesome playground! Also, nice shots sans photo software. Did you manipulate your focal points on that first photo or were you shooting all auto?
I'm glad everyone is over their sickies. What a bummer.
I use auto probably 80-90% of the time. Usually I just forget! Plus I know nothing about using my camera...still.
Theo was feeling better Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and this morning, and then today after preschool his stomach started hurting again. He's asleep now. :(
Love the tinker toy playground. Totally adorable!
Tinker toys and playmobil are some of my favorite toys. My kids are growing out of the toy phase, but I am not giving up my toys.

Okay, that's super clever, it's like you have a small genius architect on your hands.
And thanks for being happy for me!
Just to clarify so that no one thinks I have a mini architect genius (although he is very clever in many ways), Theo told me what to make and I made it...or at least provided suggestions for materials.
