The T, the blessed T

So, once upon a time I spent a lot of energy "real" shopping for clothes. (I do spend a little bit of energy "fake" shopping still, actually.) I don't know how long it has been since that time. I thought I would be depressed when this day came, like I had given up, but I'm not. Although if I did have some bucks burning a hole in my pocket I would stop by Boden and Loft and even Garnet Hill for some of their awesome basics...I'm just throwing those names around to point out how close I am obviously getting to my 30s. Embrace it, Lizer. But really, I can hardly stand how awesome Loft's jeans are and I love everything at Boden and I found The Perfect Outfit at Garnet Hill the other day. You can quote me on all of that. I'll own it.

Anyway, the most important staple of my summer uniform this year is a Mossimo pocket T-shirt from Target. I believe it is called "The Boyfriend T" and I love it. I have it in 3 colors and I rotate through them almost every day. A few of my standby favorites have been ruined by errant bleach in the past few months (RIP orange banded top from Forever 21; I really loved you), so I am almost exclusively with the pocket T now, rotating in 2 floral blouses that I am also obsessed with.

Maybe I won't make The Sartorialist but it makes getting dressed so very easy. All three of them go with all of my jeans, cutoffs and skirts. At $8 each they may come apart after 100 washes or so but I haven't gotten there yet. I recommend it to all. It will stand me in good stead, I think, until it gets cold and I can switch to rotating through my 3 turtlenecks and 2 cable-knit sweaters.

And, let's be honest, I wouldn't have made The Sartorialist even if he did frequent suburban DC parks and grocery stores. So there.

And, I think Sarah Agnes Prine would approve.

I actually like them better the more they are washed. They just get softer and softer. Long live Mosimo and Target!

Everyone seems to find everything at Target. I sometimes do - and sometimes don't. I do like their regular basic tees though - they are a summertime staple of my wardrobe.

And Boden and Garnet Hill have gorgeous stuff - and some of it even looks good on me!!

I do wish I could afford the Garnet Hill bedding though. It just would really be superfluous for me to spend that kind of money on sheets and towels.

I have spent it on the nightgowns though - so worth every penny!!

Hey!! It's been a while! So good to catch up on your blog. Your playroom is darling. You are so great with colors! Love it!

And I couldn't agree more with the shirt. Own it, love it! I decided the other day to do simple again. A tee with jeans is always classy and very mother friendly ;)

I love Old Navy. Every season I take a trip down to an outlet and get about 10 outfits for $40 and just rotate through them. Some outfits continue to the next season or meet their dryer demise. Either way, I start the new season fresh feeling good and looking good with how little I have spent.

I love Garnet Hill. My favorite outfit this past winter is from them. And I would also love to get their sheets! And for those of us middle-aged and above look at The Territory Ahead. Pretty cute stuff.

Eliza,

Just two days ago, I purchased three (black, white, gray) of those and wore one the first day, another the second day, and now I'm wearing the third. I'm in love with them. I'm pretty sure I'll wear the gray one tomorrow since that was the one I wore first.
