Is that weird?
I prefer the salty flavor over the browned flavor.
Side note. This amusing (to me) photo is of my kids one night last summer when I was trying to make cookies for Mutual on short notice. From what I remember, I was feeling kind of frazzled anyway and the actual cookie making was not pleasant. Then after I finished making the cookies I took a step back and realized that while I was frazzling it up, my kids were busy sifting through the trash. And I also realized that I had burned more cookies than not. The boys at Mutual ate them anyway and I ate the best part (the dough). I remember I took a picture to remind myself not to be frazzled because it's funny when kids sift through trash and teenagers eat burned food.
Fortunately my kids are both old enough now that cookie making is fun for everyone, even at the last minute. We made some the other day, and they both licked the beaters. While I ate entire spoonfuls of cookie dough because licking the beaters is for kids. Don't worry, our eggs weren't in the salmonella recall--I checked afterward.

I made cookies yesterday and resisted eating the dough because our eggs are in the recall!! (Dad keeps pointing it out to me!!)
"I checked afterward"- awesome.
I love eating cookie dough and cake batter. Much better than the finished product.
Also, Ida has grown so much in a year.
Salmonella schmalmonella, that's what I say. Cookie dough is where it's at.
I'm the same way with cookie dough. And I love this picture.
That picture is priceless!
Just wanted to clarify in case anyone was concerned about my disregard for my kids' health. I did give my kids cookie dough before checking the eggs. But that's only because I hadn't heard about the recall until a few hours after the dough-eating took place. Otherwise I would have checked before or probably not given them any.
So I wasn't deliberately giving them possibly bad eggs. Guess I got lucky. I don't know if that actually makes anyone feel better about my parenting, probably not.
