I am actually way out of the Sesame Street loop--I haven't watched an entire episode since the '80s. Like way before Elmo showed up. But I think Theo will like it someday...someday when he wants to watch something other than Raffi and Charlie Brown...someday when I learn how to work our TV. He likes the songs anyway. Even though I haven't really watched it in many years, I'm pretty sure I'll still like it. Because I can never get tired of watching Muppets move.
yay!!! We are number 1 fans of Sesame Street! We own all the characher's puppets, so musical globes, and some "old school" dvd's (highly reccomend). I am ashamed I didn't know it was their 40th anniversary. You're not missing much by not watching the new ones. They have new hosts, new tune to the song, elmo takes up a third of the hour, and Oscar isn't even that grouchy anymore. Get the old school Dvd's. They rock!
ReplyDeleteI love Sesame Street. When Abby was little I wasn't the biggest fan and we never really watched it. But Gabe took to Elmo with little exposure so we started turning it on occassionaly.
ReplyDeleteNow, I find myself trying to convince the kids that we should all watch Sesame Street instead of Transformers or Speed Racer because I think it is more fun.
Maybe I'll grow up one of these days, but hopefully not. Elmo, by the way, is hysterical!!!!!

I always liked Mr. Rogers and Electric Company more than Sesame Street - although we watched it all the time - there were not too many other choices for children.
ReplyDeleteBut Electric Company was really great - I don't know why they stopped it.
I think it would be really popular now - maybe they were before their time.
You are right Eliza, Aretha's bow is growing on me....
ReplyDeleteThere's a new Electric Company.
