Can I just say as a side note how extra-glad I am that Lynnette was being industrious that day. If she hadn't been (I certainly wasn't doing any laundry), we wouldn't have discovered the problem until it was too late and we'd have been a few days without our much-depended-upon dryer.
The next day right before we sat down to eat, as we were doing some last-minute prep, the sink started to fill up with water and green-bean ends. The garbage disposal did nothing when I flipped it on. Matt was on the case again and did... something... to fix it.
Our dishwasher has been running at least two loads a day lately if not three. Let's not forget the workout the microwave got today with leftovers for 10 people for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; plus the ovens, stovetop burners, fridge, freezer, crockpot, and mixer, which were all working overtime yesterday.
And the washer and dryer which always work overtime, and the water heater and the HVAC. And my iron and sewing machine which I adore even though I could be a lot more domestic in the linens and fabrics department (I'll admit those two gadgets have it kinda easy). Gosh I'm thankful for my household gadgets, especially during the holidays.
And I'm really glad I live with someone who always figures out how to fix them when they break.
P.S. I'm sorry if the theme song from "Inspector Gadget" is now in your head like it is in mine. Or perhaps I should say, you're welcome.

Dawn's washer went out last week - that's always a pain. So glad your stuff got fixed!
