I like to channel my dad with his cold and allergy remedies. Also I channel him with other things like wearing Smartwool socks and wearing my coat indoors...And putting peanut butter and jelly on bananas...and singing randomly...and walking around with my hands behind my back...but anyway. Two tricks I particularly turn to when a cold or allergies strike, are tricks I learned from him:
1) Breathe Right strips at night. Speaking of technology, these are genius. He's used them for many years but I tried them for the first time last fall at his suggestion when I was suffering through a cold. Total convert. I found slightly less sticky ones "for sensitive skin" which stay on fine but come off much more easily the next day. I'll spare you the photo. You're welcome. Just trust me that if you ever have trouble sleeping due to allergies or a cold, and you're not using Breathe Right strips, it's your own darn fault. Or perhaps your vanity's fault. (They're less than flattering.)
2) Hot lemonade. Delicious.

It's registering 70 degrees in our house - and Dad has his parka on!
ReplyDeleteIt was 18 degrees when I walked the kids to school this morning. I put on 2 coats, mittens and boots, just to cross the street. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's in the 70's outside here - but our house feels "cooler" than outside.
