I'll admit my favorite kind of day is the kind where there's nothing to do. I live for those rare occasions. But the feeling of accomplishment after an especially busy day feels good too...as long it's not every day.
Today I practiced the organ, spent a few hours outside in the very cold but very pretty morning for Ida's last soccer game and goodbye party, spent the afternoon cleaning up our ridiculously messy house (with three reluctant helpers), cooked dinner (notable because I rarely cook dinner on Saturdays...I normally consider it a day off from that job so we eat cereal or eat out), checked out my friends' new letterpress studio showcasing their 100-year-old letterpresses--super awesome--and capped it off with a marathon trip to the temple chaperoning our ward's youth, aka teenagers. Or as Matt (who has logged many years with the Young Men) put it, "There's no other kind of temple trip. They're all marathons."
Just as a side note, I am loving being in Young Women. The girls are adorable and vulnerable and strong and open and kind. Even though it's a big change in the number of hours per week versus Primary, I still am loving it. I'm not even in the presidency so I can't fathom how hard our president works or how much time she puts in. But I know it's a whole lot, way more than I do. And the bishop, forget about it. Bishops everywhere...you deserve a long vacation and for all your dreams to come true.
I guess I didn't actually accomplish that much overall but the house was pretty bad and now it's clean. (Well, not "clean," but tidy.) So that's big.
It was a good day...now, goodnight!
