Friday photo: Poor Ida

Poor Ida.

Whenever a situation arises that would merit my saying "Poor Ida," I immediately want to say "Ore-Ida" instead. Because I'm weird.

Poor Ida. (Ore-Ida) She got shots this week and although she was a champ throughout the actual shooting, she was just not her usual happy self afterward. When Theo got shots as a baby, he slept it off. Not Ida. She smiles through the pain, but you can tell: the pain is there. And she will not be sleeping it off, thank you very much. Instead she will be alternating between crying and laughing all afternoon. And since I am the one who subjected her to it, then who better to hang out with throughout nap time?

So sad.

  1. i was a lucky mom - you all "slept off" your shots.

    Hope she's feeling better!

  2. She really is so cute. How do you get your pictures to be so big?

Oh, and last thing I'll say. I have the BOB duallie too, and I really like it, except it's heavy for jogging. I think it would have been better if I had gotten the one without the swivel wheel, but then I would never have used it anywhere else and I don't have another double stroller. Also, I get tired of all the, "Is that going to fit?!" comments when I take it places. People get a really big kick out of themselves when they say that. And it always does fit.

  3. I am always amazed at where it fits too! It fits through my front door, down the stairs, through the front door of the building. It fits through a gap in a nearby fence that I was sure it wouldn't fit through. Amazing. I think that without the swivel wheel, it might not fit.

I am pretty sure I'm going to return it though. The Phil & Teds isn't as good for jogging--actually almost impossible for jogging--but it is so great for everything else. Much lighter to get in and out of the car, and it snaps shut, whereas the Duallie is heavy and doesn't stay together. I feel that if (a) I had a garage and (b) the stroller latched shut when folded, I might be more happy with it.

  4. This is my super fast response because it's quiet time and I'm hanging out on the computer. On the hand security holder thing (long strap that comes up from the bottome) you can wrap it so that it velcros the handlebar shut to the bottom. It's a little bit tricky but it keeps it shut, it doesn't stand by itself though in your trunk. My friend always does it with hers and then puts it in, but it's too big of a hassle for me to strap it together everytime. And it is SO heavy! I always make Craig put it in when we walk together.
