No kidding, we'd hear him in there thumping for the first 10 minutes or so.
Now we still hear him occasionally at night after he's been in bed a while, only now, from what we can gather, he's talking himself to sleep. Sometimes laughing. It's pretty cute actually. As long as he's not crying!
Ida's another story. She'll fall asleep on her own pretty well too, but only if she is tightly swaddled. She naps fine in her crib but will only do longer stretches in a reclined infant seat. Having had such a wiggly guy the first time I'm at a loss for "weaning" her off the swaddle and infant seat, or going cold turkey, or whatever. When do you stop--when you realize they're irreversibly bowlegged? No idea. I'm a swaddling rookie.
Anyway I wish you could have seen or heard Theo back in his leg-slamming days. Comedy.
Elijah used to do that too! Though I'd forgotten until I saw that video.
ReplyDeleteMy understanding with the swaddling is that you can do it until they stop sleeping well when swaddled. Caroline loves it as well, but this is the first go around for me, too!
ReplyDeleteMei Li slammed her legs like that in her bed too. It was so dang cute.
ReplyDeleteTheo is so dang cute, both vintage and present.
Manix did the same thing especially on his changing table. He would do it to let us know he was awake from his nap though.... not to go to sleep. What a hoot!
