I have a theory - if the first one's cranky, the second is a piece of cake and so it goes the other way around. It's like some law of the universe. And I have observed it many times! I don't know if you'll be able to update blog mon-fri but even if it is all "motherhood" stuff, we'll still love to hear it!
Let me tell you, Ida is not "fussy" they way I know "fussy" but she is adorable and maybe we are glad to have an excuse to hold her so much!
And we all know that even the fussiest babies are totally loved.
And it has been my experience that fussy babies become excellent older babies - I was thinking maybe it's because you have to keep experimenting with what works, so you end up with this excellent repetoire of techniques and settle on the perfect combo - and voila, they work beautifully!!
Well, one thing about fussy babies. They grow up. And like Barbara said, they are totally loved.(just like the not fussy ones!) I've had a share of fussy babies and lived to tell of it!
Chloe (our niece) used to be so fussy. She'd cry when she just looked at me, or when she came into our apartment. It was sad. But she has definitely overcome that now, she is a giggler and way more laid back.
Everyone's got to put in their two cents, I guess. And since I'm an expert...
When my Eliza was a newborn, she was a real baby, if you know what I mean. One day when my mom was staying with us she told me that God doesn't fussy babies just anyone. Of course He knew Eliza's little temperament, and he sent her to me because she could make me more patient, gentle, meek...
All of my babies were very "fussy", I think Morgan and Ethan were colicky. They just cried a lot for the first 3 months. It was very hard, especially with Morgan because I wasn't quite expecting it. With the other two, I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. They all grew out of it, and although Morgan was the hardest infant, she was the easiest toddler. Even with the hardships, the newborn phase is so short, and so sweet.
Ida is just trying to tell you how much she loves you, in her own "fussy" sort of way.
ReplyDeleteGood luck blogging. I was/am impressed you could get out one post a day just with Theo. I certainly can't get that accomplished with Genevieve.
