I have an issue with the vanilla Frosty. Actually, I am fine with the concept of the vanilla Frosty itself and am even looking forward to trying it (I haven't yet, and I will, because I like vanilla). But what bothers me is that every time I order a Frosty now, the Wendy's person asks me, "Chocolate or vanilla?"
Why do they have to ask that? (That's a rhetorical question; you don't have to explain to me about promoting new products and all of that.) If I wanted vanilla I would say vanilla. If someone orders a Frosty with no reference to flavor, (e.g., "One small Frosty, please") then obviously they don't want a vanilla one, they want the original one, which is the chocolate one, because for years and years people have been ordering just plain "Frosty" and the Wendy's employees always knew what that meant. If it were up to me, we'd be allowed to order a "Frosty" if we want a Frosty or "vanilla Frosty" if we want a vanilla Frosty.
Maybe next time I will say "ORIGINAL Frosty." Hopefully they will get the hint. I don't like being forced to say "chocolate Frosty" because it's not that chocolatey--that's one thing I've always liked about it--and it's just weird to call it that.
That's why I haven't tried the vanilla one yet--out of pride. But I do want to try it, eventually, when I get over this stumblingblock.
(Let's hope it turns out better than that "Fix'n'Mix Frosty" disaster they're still clinging to, you know with the Oreo crumbles and all of that. Sick.)
Seriously! But I will not try the vanilla Frosty, just out of defiance. I will eat my words one day when I actually try the vanilla Frosty.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad you're finally watching AD. I mean, I know you kind of did before, but you know.
Actually, I need to update my sidebar. I only really put AD on there because it was on the telly at the time. We have 1 and 2 on DVD, but I've only seen a few episodes all the way through. Matt loves it, but it's so hard for me to get into it. I do like Buster and GOB though...they always make me laugh.
ReplyDeleteAnd George Michael, also funny and awkward.
(thanks for the validation guys, I mean it's not like my "cause" or anything but I do feel rather strongly about this Frosty thing)
ReplyDeleteI agree that when you say frosty you mean chocolate.
ReplyDeleteummm, i don't want to start a flame war here, but i have to take issue with buying a shake at a fast food place.
ReplyDeletetruly, the only shakes or malts worth consuming are homemade (my preference), Baskin-Robbins, and of course Ben&Jerry's.
i would have to think that as a terrill, you would agree.
Interestingly enough, I don't think of the Frosty as a shake, actually. I just think of it as a Frosty.
ReplyDeleteAnd as a Terrill, I have to confess that I don't like malts. I do like shakes, though--homemade.
(And I also like them from In-N-Out AND Jack in the Box. Both fast-food places! ACK!)
I'm with you on the fix and mix disaster. They need to give it up.
