Today's Confession and Some Ramblings to Go Along with It

Last night I watched The Bachelor: The Final Rose Live.

All 3 hours of it.

Okay, I was multi-tasking. And I did switch channels often enough to catch most of the series finale of Everybody Loves Raymond--which was so good and I actually teared up twice. (Anybody else watch it?)

But the fact that The Bachelor took precedence for me over the beloved Ray Romano sitcom that has enjoyed a 9-year run and is ALWAYS funny and ALWAYS good, just because I needed, I mean NEEDED to know whether Charlie would pick Krisily or Sarah B.--or even the fact that I actually watched TV for 3 hours in a row--makes me feel a little, well, dirty inside.

OK, maybe that's exaggerating. But I'll get back on my self-deprecating soapbox. Frank Lloyd Wright called TV "chewing gum for the eyes." Fine for the spatial type (I do love you, FLW, and your cool flat houses in the woods), but I say it's more chewing gum for the brain. And nobody--besides perhaps Violet Beauregard--
Violet Beauregard

would chew the same piece of gum for 3 hours, right? Well, I wouldn't anyway. Gross. So why watch 3 hours of TV? Equally gross. But I told you already. Krisily vs. Sarah B.

Fortunately, over the 3-hour period of brain gum-chewing, besides making and eating dinner, doing some homework, and exchanging "What are they thinking?"-type comments with Matt over various actions and statements of people on the show, I also got an hour on the treadmill. That should count for something.

And once DH and Alias's finales are over (okay, and Nick & Jessica's Tour of Duty), I'm DONE with TV.

Really.

Until the fall, at least.

  2. What day are you coming again? Like Wednesday?

Hooray, I'm excited. Maybe this will motivate me to get my HW done early (I have a big project due May 31st, ugh).

  3. I have to say, since they started running the bachelor opposite 24 I have been feeling a little lost. The Bachelor is a show I Love to Hate. But it wasn't the same to watch it after my roommate Roxy moved off and got married anyway---it was all about the joint yelling and criticism for me anyway.

    Love the pic of Violet.
