Because of Covid, our ward didn’t meet in person at all for about 5 months, although we met on Zoom pretty consistently all spring and summer. In late August they started holding smaller Sunday meetings in person, and we went to one in September (there were 25 attendees), and then they increased the capacity to 80 and started live-streaming the meetings. We decided this weekend that for the time being we will watch from home since that’s an option now, but I had already committed to playing the organ for today, so I went while my family watched from home.
It was really nice to be there, and it’s also really nice to watch from home. Our church community has been readily and warmly available these past 8 months, both virtually and in person, as we’ve all adapted for safety reasons, and I’m very grateful for that.
I am grateful for options!!
ReplyDeleteI have heard good things about church from home and not missing meeting in person, mainly because of inconvenient start times and/or no longer having to listen to people’s opinions/stories during Sunday School, etc. I wonder if the church will continue to adapt after there’s a vaccine.
ReplyDeleteThankfully we have horrible internet at our building so going back won't be a thing for us for a while. But I am glad they are providing it for others who need it.
